Guided-Imagery Breathing

To begin using guided-imagery hypnosis, the first place you always start is your breathing.

When your body is relaxed, the visualization and suggestions become easier.

To begin, first find a comfortable position to be in.

Most people find that sitting in a chair with your feet on the floor works well.

For some people lying down is associated with sleeping so to stay awake during your guided-imagery session try sitting.

Simply read along and follow the flow of the words.

 Begin to notice your breathing.

Feel the air as you breathe deeply in through your nose.

Feel the air move all the way down into your belly.

When you exhale, just let all the air go.

Imagine as you exhale you send all tension and stress out on your breath.

You can imagine a color if you want.

Inhale a beautiful white color.

Feel that white breath move throughout your body.

As you exhale perhaps the color changes.

You are releasing any tension and stress as it does.

Continue breathing in and out for at least ten minutes.

If you find that your mind wanders that's okay.

Simply return your attention to your breath.

That's all you need to do!

You can also include longer inhalations and exhalations to help yourself achieve a particular brainwave state.
